    [Electrical] 1820E E3-10 / Black copies

    Hello everyone,

I've got an 1820E that keeps on giving an E3-10 code, and when it doesn't code it prints out completely black pages with the copied image there but barely visible.

I tried the corona wire first as the most likely cause without success. Then I tried a whole different charge assembly, still no luck. Then I swapped out the whole drum/dev unit, then the Power Supply, and finally the SPC Board, but the problem persists. I have had a few instances when the thing just started working fine for a while but then eventually started coding and printing out black copies again.

Those are all the parts the service manual suggests to try. Anyone think it could be the SC Board or something else? I'm out of ideas so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
    O.o

Didn't expect that, but that will probably solve it.

      You sir, are awesome. Thanks!

you're welcome, maybe it helps with your problem.

Look after the date the machinery.

Contact Plate will be added to Rear Engine Holder from Oct, 2006 production.

In reference to the E3-10 code I have used a modified paper clip to ground the drive to the frame.

I ordered the update and that solved the problem for that machine. I ran into another one with the same issue some time later and used a paper clip to solve that one. I don't know what I'd do without paper clips.
