    Exposure glass

I have an 8045 with a cracked glass. The one used only when feeding thru the doc feeder. Looked in the parts book and it shows you have to get the entire exposure glass. I know someone out there has delt with this. I was thinking about taking it to a glass shop and have them cut me one. Anyone been down this road? Any ideas?

Personally, since the glass has no special coating, I can see no reason why that would not work.

      Re: Exposure glass

Just make sure that the glass thickness is the same, and the edges smoothed but not beveled. In my experience every copier I've worked with has had a metric dimension, 2 or 3mm thick. Back in the moving tabletop days we changed quite a lot of glass. Not so much these days. It's usually pretty cat-astrophic if the glass is broken. Smashed DF, bent scanner, broken mirrors ...

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I MUST be getting old. Here I am posting videos in this thread and it didn't even dawn on me what it was about..

Copiman, PM me. I have a few of the slit glass around the shop.
