    DA-FS330 finisher not stapling correctly

I have a 3530 with one of these finishers on it and when it staples the papers are offset or sometimes pages are missed altogether. I tried to watch what's happening with the front cover off but it's hard to see exactly but it seems when the jogger moves the paper over to the stapling unit the first sheet is pushed over fine but the second appears to get caught on something. The jogger is working and tries to push the paper over but the paper just curls and doesn't move. I gave up trying to fix it at the customer's and brought it back to the shop and took it completely apart and couldn't find anything that would be causing the problem. I cleaned and lubed everything and put it back together and hoped it would magically work but when I tested it I still had the same problem.

Has anyone else ever had this problem and were you able to fix it? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

There is a calibration mode that involves a DIP switch on the finisher main board.

What does DIP stand for? Are there instructions for how to do this in the service manual? I checked the section that has to do with the finisher and I couldn't find anything. I certainly want to give this a try.

      Thanks for the advice!

I looked for it as well and could not find it. The FS-600 finisher has a section under the trouble shooting section that uses the dip switches. Mojorola told me about it. Might want to hit up Mojorola. He is extreamly versed on these. Wished I could help but I have not seen the finisher you have enough.

          Yeah, me neither.

Thanks for the tip! I'll ask Mojorola if he can help since he does seem to know what he's doing.

The DIP switch settings are for the 600, saddle stitch, and punch units. There is no DIP switch adjustments for the 330, jogging and stapling are based off of paper size. The jogger uses a pinion motor and gear. It also has a retaining spring on the back side, ensure all parts are there. Page 685 of the 60xx service manual. I am not sure if this one has dampers that force the paper down, but I have seen a few of these come loose before.
