i'm settin up 2 panasonic dp 4510's to a network
and all is good except i cannot get the machines
to "fax to e-mail" for me , is there a setup for that, both units have fax boards installed, am i missing something ?? when going to "fax to email" the display says "check your email perimeters", and i can't get past that..

Well my friend, first of all e-mail is an option. print the "Machine Info Page" see if it says "Yes" next to e-mail.

Then we can go ahead and set it up.
    if it says "Yes"

    press Function
    Fax E-mail Settings
scroll down to key operator mode enter the password
    Select User Parameters
and just go through the settings.

    you need the following:
machine E-mail address, SMTP IP or if you input the DNS settings SMTP Server Name, if the server requires authentication then you would need to enable SMTP authentication in Fax parameters.
Make sure you have the right port selected by default it should be 25.
You can also put all the other non inportant stuff like default subject, selectable domains and such.

    Thats it.

    Good Luck!!!

ok i tried to print that in keyop mode,
no where on the page does it state "e-mail " as a title or "yes or no"
        for that matter...

when i go to set up e-mail , it's all grayed out..
like i said the units have the fax boards installed , someone told me that there are 2 different fax boards , one that just faxes and the other that does the "fax to e-mail.
is this true. my other thought is that we need the "scan to file" board also or is that a completely different issue..

Hey there joeboo.. As far as i can tell, it sounds like ya have your main fax board in place but are wanting to be able to Internet Fax/ E-Mail and also if possible you'd like to netwok scan.. Right?... If that's the case and if memory serves me correctly, you will need the hardware keys installed onto the SC Board.. I'll try to get ya more info. hope it helps..
