    MP 2851 turn off dataoverwrite security

    Hi we purchase copier has data over write SD card. I want to turn feature off have problems with mac not able to set up printer. i had one before that i did a memory reset and fix it. I had to put all the readings back. i know that there has to be a different way to do this.
    thanks for anyone help on this.

    You will find it in user tools, system settings, administrator tools. You will need to be logged as the machine administrator. I do not think that it will help with printing from a MAC. If it does not have the PS3 option installed, you have to use Apple's generic PCL driver to print to PCL. Just basic printing. No duplex, no finishing options, on a color machine no color, etc.

      I think the term "generic" is even more than that driver deserves.

        But it does work. I have a couple of customers who don't want to buy the PS3 option. Set up to use the generic PCL and told them they could print but not color and no features. She does a lot of text only printing so was happy just to be able to print.

          Think I ran into an issue recently that the latest Mac OS systems don't have the driver you need to print to a device that doesn't have PS on it. Advised the customer not to update their other Mac OS for now.
