First let me be perfectly honest. I have never had formal printer training. That being said I am not dumb I can fix jut about anything if I have a bit of knowledge about it first. Traditionally I work mainly on our small printers(various model of Brother Laser printers and multi function machines). That has recently changed.
We have acquired a Ricoh MP c2050 that was working perfectly until it needed black toner. The accountant refilled the black toner cartridge so she didn't have to walk downstairs to make copies. Everything seemed OK until today(no harm no foul). Now the whole page has a grey overtone with darker spots randomly(no pattern to them). I cleaned the drum and no change, what other piece could I clean to get this thing up and running? Elsewhere online I found an answer from Ricoh to just print until this issue resolves itself. I have sent a few hundred pages through now and don't want to waste any more paper if there is a smarter solution.
Yes I know the accountant shouldn't be doing things like this but she saw me do it one time and believes he is an expert....and used the wrong refill toner.
