Lately the machine started displaying SC500 error on startup.
I removed the back cover and noticed that the main drive motor isn't spinning when you power on the machine like it did before.
I browsed for similar problems here and tried suggestions from them but the error persists.
The PCU is just a couple of months old, and I checked it just the same and it rotated just fine, no parts stuck.
Checked the gearbox, cleaned the gears and lubed the gear shafts. All were spinning fine.
Cleaned and lubed the registration roller bushings / shafts.
There are instances when the motors does spin up and it says ready but it cannot complete a copy cycle, it displays the sc500 error halfway through.
There's one thing i noticed though, in cases when the main motor spins it makes a grinding noise.
Could the main motor be damaged? Can it be fixed?
Thanks very much.
