HI,
Lately the machine displays an SC500 error when turned on.
I removed the back cover and observed that the main motor does not spin like it used to when the machine is turned on.
The PCU is relatively new about a couple of months old but i checked it just the same and the rotating parts were spinning without difficulty, no stuck parts or jammed gears.
Removed the gearbox assembly, cleaned gears and lubed gear shafts.
Cleaned and lubed the bushings and shafts of the registration rollers.
The problem persists.
There are rare instances when the main motor spins on startup and it says ready. However the error reappears when you try using the machine.
I also observed that when the motor spins, it makes a rough grinding noise.
Could the motor be damaged? Can it be fixed?
Thanks for all your inputs.
