have a MP161 set up SMB scan to file on windows 7 worked good. Now windows 10 gives me authentication issues. do I need a firmware update to scan SMB with windows 10 or what? Is there a simple way?

I had same issue a month ago on an MP171 and firmware update worked.

You contact your nearest Ricoh Family Group authorized dealer or branch and pay them to come out and install. Be sure to mention to them that you need to scan to folder on a Windows 10 computer. You will be charged the normal service fee.

I've just updated my Ricoh MP161spf with it's latest firmware version, and it's now working for SMB scanning on Windows 10.
In the attachment you see the latest version.
