af 1224 double image
Hi there, I have an af 1224 giving a double image but only when copying or printing in colour.On b/w or single colour it is fine.I have replaced the pcu but to no avail.Any ideas on this will be much appreciated.

A common fault on this model that normally occurs at some point during the machines life span.
It's the spring clutch in the transport gear box assembly that lowers and highers the transfer belt cleaning unit on the PCU.
Some people strip and clean the spring clutch.
Personally I replace the whole transport bracket for peace of mind and to save time as it's not the quickest of jobs getting it out the back of the machine.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.

I tried cleaning the clutch but it didn't work. I think they are going to upgrade now anyway but thanks for your help.Comment

I stripped and cleaned one 4 times one day - never again - it doesn't work, the transport bracket needs replacing.Comment
