[CQ] What colour should mp4002 dev roller be!?

The reason I ask is I looked at an mp4002 today with poor print quality, faint copies.
I cleaned the dev roller & the black coating came off, so I thought is it supposed to be silver or black!?

The black coating is toner, should be silver

Should the black coating return quickly, you will need to:
          1. Dump all the developer.
          2. Clean it again. Use a copper wire brush to get the grooves clean.
          3. Coat it with "Stay bright" or something similar.
          4. Completely remove all toner residue from the entire PCDU. If off brand toner has been used also clean all residue from the toner tray.
          5. Refill with genuine Ricoh developer and only use genuine Ricoh toner.

Should the coating still return, replace the development unit and repeat steps 4 and 5. Ricoh used to sell just the development roller but no longer does. Keep the lower portion in case you ever have the bearings on the mixer roller seize.
