    ricoh 2018-error sc390

Sent to fit a bcu pwb for someone else but suspect it's not the board. Output mode starts the toner motor, dev unit turns, hopper is ok(stripped out & checked) all within pm life. 35 sky shots & mc will not add toner (watched with the cover lifted up) looked in the manual for how it adds toner & the Vt (1.5) should be above the vts to add toner (2.49). Now the Vt increased from 0.43 to its current state after the Sky shots but the copies are washed out.

also throws sc390 I think which is id sensor, which has been replaced with the dev.
    any ideas?

Sc 390 is the TD sensor error not ID

Agreed! Had one just yesterday on MP2000 (self inflicted), after changing Dev. Installed New TD sensor. All Good.
FYI....TD sensors from a used type 1027 PCU work on these units

SC390 means that TD sensor is reading in developer something it shouldn't be there...like too much toner or wrong toner.
I had few cases that old drums made machine overtoning itself so much that it throws SC390,some wierd types of toner can do that also.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?
