This completely depends on what version of Equitrac you are using ?

Anything above PCC 4.2.1 will not work on Equitrac 4 with an MP C3003. If you are using Equitrac 4 I would suggest you use something more stable like PCC 4.2.0

Have you also set the device up with the correct pull queue ?

Just wondering... Which print driver are you using?

I always use the latest version of the Universal PCL 6 driver.

Obviously, something changed between the trial and now, but what?

I contend that the C3003 is a piece of crap in general. It only gets worse when you install enablers on it.
And once you develop an attitude like, you will never be able to successfully work on the model. I have no problems with them at all. Of course I make sure they are setup properly before delivering. I also load the latest firmware after setting up and then run ACC. Almost every time I go to a machine that has the complaint of light copies, I find ACC has not been run, or at least there are no entries. Clean the optics and run ACC.

IMO Java has be questionable since it's marriage with Equitrac and PCC as far back as MPC2800 series.
Back then we had a run of Java VM/SD cards die in the MFD because of (what I believe) continued Java read/writes to the VM cards.
I believe the bug in the Equitrac/PCC software was suppose to be fixed back in the MPC2800 series.

Java being touchy doesn't sound like anything new...

Good chance that the newer copiers won't work with old versions of Equitrac.

If it's not at least 5.2, I would think you'd have issues with 03 Ricoh machines.

FYI...the C3003 tends to be a bit touchy with Java apps in general. Not exactly my favorite.

Had some thing similar a few years back. The MFD/Equitrac system worked well with user card readers right up until some wisdom nut in government decided to tighten the security to the Equitrac servers. That's when their MFD's an some other online Equitrac linked devices would run as slow as a Sloth. I went back to the customer two times to inform them that their own I.T. have change IP settings or servers and now the MFD system linked together on this server is being bottle necked. The office staff informed me later down the track that their I.T. Dept had changed settings on the Equitrac servers. What those exact settings where I do not know.

The Equitrac installation is usually done in the office on site.

Sounds like the Equitrac server has NOT been configured from the I.T. network administration side of the system.
You may need to ring the I.T. Dept and get the Equitrac changes white listed for the network.
Until the MFD/Equitrac software can see the server there is probably not much else to do.
I assume Java and PCC3 script is loaded and running okay on the MFD.

    PCC 4.1.2 is really old.

    Version 4.2.3 is current.

I would suspect this to be the issue, seeing how the copier is so new in comparison.
