[Electrical] MP301 Touch panel works but keypad keeps on blowing

    Hi,

We have a mp301 that blows the keypad the whole time. It's the 4th ops panel we are replacing on the machine. The touch panel works but the keypad is dead.

    Any ideas?

We are gonna put a electricity checking device on the plug to see if it's maby the power source that's causing it

      Hi,

      Just an update.

I have 5 MP301's and 2 MP2501's that the panels are'nt working on. I took the earth cable from the ops panel and lenghtend it and joined it with the earth cable on the pug at the back of the machine. Gonna install the machine and hopefully that works. The problem seems to be static. If the client touches the machine it shocks them.

The one mp2501 I put a rubber mat underneath to see if that will help. The client have carpet all over there business.

      Will give update again.

Does the machine itself have a good ground?

Did it end up being static?

Lucky to have only 1 so far but the same place had a MP301 and now a loaner MP301 with same keypad problem you describe.

did you end up replacing the whole op panel? I was looking at the parts manual and it was confusing to see what board it might be.

          thanks

            Hi,

We replaced the whole panel. What we did extra was earthing the panel with a longer wire from the panel to where the plug actually plugs into the machine. Never had a problem again. Try that

I was looking through the service manual and was wondering did you have to remove the whole scanner unit to replace the touch panel?

I didn't remove the whole scanner unit.

I removed the screws that secure it in the front right corner. I believe I may have also removed a screw in the
back so I could lift it up (carefully) high enough to stick a stubby on a screw on a plastic piece that helps hold the wire
for the op panel in place.

There were several connectors inside the op panel and a bunch of tiny screws that hold the bottom cover on to access the
boards in there. Pretty annoying design.

We have only had to replace 2 of the op panels- 1 with a used op panel we got off the internet and 1 I ordered the 2 little boards that have all
                the touch buttons on them.

I just did it the same way.
and the whole time I was thinking, who makes this, Samsung?
