With slow printing colour documents, I have found several times the issue to be that the machine does not have postscript and the fonts in the pdf or document being used are postscript fonts. This causes the machine to take more time to print the jobs.
If it works, don't touch it.

What can be done about that? Is there a fix?

Well the only fix for situations like that is to install postscript.

Anytime there are issues with slow print I like to narrow it down to what type of documents are printing slow and if it's just 1 computer or every computer.

Few things I do as follows
Check all computers to make sure there is nothing stuck in the print que . Corrupted or job pending to print can hold up the que.

Check the document types to narrow down where the slow print is coming from. I'll print from browser, word document, pdf and compare.

If it's the web browser or word or all 3 then I'll try reinstalling the correct drivers, and manually selecting them ( never take windows choice ), and if that does not work I'll make sure firmware is new and updated.

Alot of times it is issues related to PDF.
It's either the ones that have postscript font and machine does not have postscript , the pdf is secure locked and takes time or the pdf is basically scanned images ( can't search or click the text. Computer has to literally process every single page one by one and send it to the machine)
If it works, don't touch it.
