Blank Copy MP171SPF

Hi.. Just finished servicing a MP171SPF (no replacements) just a general cleaning and vacuuming as the toner had spilt inside the machine. Now there is no print/copy. Even the "counter copy (from engine)" is blank. Tried changing PCU's from different machines but no luck. Pls give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your response Zelderman, I checked the cassette earth plate and cleaned the grease on the drum shaft but still same 'blank copy' issue. Greeting to U too.

Hi

Stupid suggestion - but here goes:

You didn't leave anything (like a cloth) in the cavity to the left of the toner hopper? This will effectively stop the laser light from reaching the drum = blank copy.

Else I would suggest starting a copy then stop the machine midway to see if there is any image on the drum - if so it is a transfer issue (check the right door).

If blank then there is an issue between laser and drum.

Maybe anithere stupid question but is there a toner bottle in the machine? Some of these entry level machines have a lever at the back of the toner hopper that kills the laser is there is no bottle in the tray.

Thank you for your responses. Whilst cleaning the toner spill inside the machine a thin film of toner had deposited onto the laser curved lens After this was cleaned everything was ok. Its yr "apparent" stupid reply's that helped . Really appreciate this.
