    Ricoh 2238 Waste Oil

Has anyone had any success recovering a used waste oil bottle? The Waste Oil Full message displays and halts printing. Even if all the oil is drained from bottle, the message stays. Opening and closing the front door did not work. We turned the machine off for 10 seconds, more like 10 minutes, and turned it back on. Then we opened and closed the front door again but the message stays.

The bottle has been discontinued so we could not order a brand new one. Never had this happen before on these types of machines. Replacing the bottle and closing the door usually reset the message.

    Thanks.

In the waste oil bottle there is a black actuator that floats when the oil level rises. make sure it is sitting down in the waste oil bottle if you emptied
the waste oil bottle the oil may be holding it up

Banging the bottle to knock the black flag down further did the trick. Thanks for your replies!
