just following up, it's been a week and no complaints (and this woman would have complained!) so the torque limiter fixed it. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks to all for the help. I replaced the torque limiter as suggested and that seems to have done it. Thanks again!

Replace the belt, reverse roller and torque limiter. Also, clean the one way bearing that the feed roller shaft slides into as well as the sensors.

The torque limiter could be ceasing occasionally. Try replacing it.

Thanks for the reply Doug, I did see that bulletin but the problem is happening before it gets to that point. It happened twice out of about 300 originals and each time it crunched up under the pickup roller/feed belt ass'y, just past the sep. roller.

    MP C4502A original jams

Originals intermittently accordion jam under the feed ass'y. on the doc feeder (type A)just after the feed belt. I can see where the lead edge is slightly damaged in the middle as though it caught where the feed belt and sep roller are located. I've replaced the feed belt, pick up roller and sep. roller, cleaned the one way bearing and shaft for the feed belt and checked the torque limiter. Nothing appears bent, warped or damaged and there are no foreign objects in path but I am missing something. If I use paper right out of a package as originals they will run fine but using paper which has been previously copied, with only slight downward curl, then it will catch.
As I said, it is intermittent and I have been there twice already. Customer is getting irritated and have to go back today. Any help appreciated.
