[CQ] Random lead edge dirty on MP7500

    Good morning, commuters!

I'm having this problem on a customer's machine. Randomly the first page of a job will come out like this.

    leadedge.jpg

Leading edge, simplex (or duplex, doesn't matter).

The stupid thing is I believe I had this one before on another customer and I can't remember how I managed to solve it.

I'm in the process of ordering parts for the drum and transfer belt units, but I'd like some assurance that it isn't something else entirely.

    Cheers!

I would clean drum shaft and clean all around the develioper unit, esp the mag roller ends and contacts...
looks like bias might be dropping out and it could be drum too..

FYI, this is very common when the machine is considerably past PM cycle. First one or two copies/prints after the machine has set for any length of time. Incomplete charging at the start of drum rotation. Raising charge voltage sometimes help long enough to get in PM parts to include drum.

I have also seen a loose Flywheel on the Drum shaft cause a similar problem.
