    Dear Friends,

I wish to know if you charge lease / click contract clients for replacement of "Controller Board"

    Thanks

      It depends

If it's a genuine failure, we eat the cost

If they had a series of outages, brownouts or lightning that damaged the HDD or other equipment in the office, we would likely pass the charge on.

Assuming their contract covers parts it depends on how the board died.

Power surge? No, contract specifically mentions this is not covered. Especially so if the customer has no surge protection attached to the machine, and yes I see this often.

Somebody forced a cable into the wrong port? No, contract also mentions customer damage is not covered.

If it seems to have failed for reasons not due to customer abuse or power surge then yes.

What we've done in the past is if a controller fails due to Electrical/Environmental issues, we suggest to the customer to file a claim with their insurance company for replacement of the board. If the board simply fails for no apparent outward reason, we don't charge them for that.
