[Error Code] Ricoh c4502 - add yellow toner

    Persistent "Add yellow toner" error.

    Steps taken:

Replaced yellow pump, symptoms cleared for a few weeks and came back.

Replaced dev unit with developer. Symptoms came back in about a week. Machine seems to work with FIXED toner supply mode instead of using VREF.

Checked to see if the toner bottle is spinning and delivering toner and it is. I wonder if the dev gears on the machine are somewhat stripped or something electrical is going on.

When you replace the pump, also always vacuum cleaner the tube, because that also can be clogged with toner.
Also check if there is any toner coming out of the tube were it is going into the hopper...
The sensor on the hopper entrance might be faulty too...

cleaned as well as the nozzle and toner end sensor.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

What is bizarre to me is that I had the customer replace the bottle with a brand new one and I ran the PCDU out of toner until it loaded and it passed the self-check without the error. I then took that bottle out and replaced it with the older bottle and did the same. It came back up with the error after running the PCDU out of yellow toner.

It's possible. The toner is absolutely OEM.

Faulty bottle of some type. Either RFID chip or toner is not coming out of the bottle. Change SP 3045 to 1. If the machine then works fine until the bottle is actually out of toner, the ID chip is bad. If the image starts to fade, the bottle is clogged.

Quality does not fade even after the machine states the toner is empty. I'm leaning towards faulty chip.
