Seems like the solenoid that operates the reverse flap in the df is stuck. Take a listen, as you should be able to hear the flap activate once the first side of the original has been completely scanned. If you cannot hear it, it is not operating.

The machine knows that you want to make a duplex copy, but the original is fed out the single path and therefore it registers a jam.

Check that the flap (paddle) that operates the duplex mechanism is not stuck. It used to happen a lot on machines that did not make many duplex copies. a Little lubrication and manual assistance, and all will be well again.

With the number of questions you have posted today on the MP C3500, my suggestion is that you call your nearest authorized Ricoh dealer.

Pro slimslob, u r right, I m a beginner in color machine, 1st time join the forum & never hv a mentor lead me a right way, thus lots of questions once join in, all pro sorry my negligence to bother you all. I apologize for any inconveniences caused.

Asking copier questions is a good thing, getting all the guys to repeat the same out dated answers is probably not so good.

If you will, I would like to show you how to search the old CTN forums for all the old copier answers your looking for.

In any web browser using any search engine, type in the following (without quotes)

"search site:wwwcopytechnet.com <my copier fault>"

Example, entire full text type into google search engine:

search site : www.copytechnet.com MPC3500 jamb

You can read your web browsing interest back for about 10 years of forum posts.
