    Ricoh MP 3010 Blur

Ricoh MP 3010, print out blur on the text font, but negative print no blur...
Dismantled the PCU, found no uneven developer on magnetic roller...
Developer material not good? Other brand developer can be use?

Anyhow, swapped developer unit PCU A to PCU B and vice versa, both PCU ok...So strange?
But put back the original PCU drum unit & developer, problem come back...
Is there any setting need to be done for swapping developer unit?

I suggest trying a type 1027 PCU and run developer initialization after you install

Going by the sample I'd say it's being starved of toner.

        Check the toner hopper out.

It wouldn't be the first time I've seen one clog up or have one or more mylar paddles come unstuck.

I've dismantle the toner hopper unit, serviced & cleaned up.
Put back to machine and print test page, blur...
Open & close front cover, print test page, still blur...(tried 3 times)
Initialize developer, print test page still blur...
Swapped whole toner hopper unit with toner, print few test pages, can hear toner loading, and getting solid back...
Swapped back the previous hopper unit, printed 1 book (100pages), so far no problem...
How do I confirm the toner hopper unit is running?

I would monitor the TD voltage and quality of the output while doing some high coverage copying. (The checker flag test pattern is pretty good one).
The voltage shouldn't vary by too much if the toner supply is keeping up.

-Their is the output motor test.
-Some techs mark the toner bottle with tipex to see if rotates.
-You could spoof the door, remove the toner hopper and see if the toner bottle motor comes on while copying.

It's also worth mentioning that dev auger gears and bushings wear out after a few dev changes.
That's why many techs prefer to just fit a DMU23 from the older model range instead of screwing around rebuilding the PCDU (as copyaction suggested).

Printed 3 books >300pages, so far no blur, return back to customer and monitor...

After running for a week, same blur problem came back again...

This time I've swapped whole toner hopper unit with toner, and PCU...

Any output test to test the toner motor?

I don't have any of these, but it looks like you may need to clean the ID sensors and laser shields in addition to what you have already done.

The problem toner hopper unit & PCU, when insert to another machine, first test page is blur, then can hear toner adding sound, then later printouts solid back, no more print...Seems that not toner hopper or PCU problem...
