Ricoh will charge almost double for a colour drum vs the black in the same machine?!

They are also creative when for instance fusing units look the same they will fiddle the wires in the connector so that it will report that the unit is not set....

There is no reason why parts cannot be more cross compatible - oh wait it is called profit!! That is why we receive a constant hiding in that department.....

Currently the biggest pain are the boards when some cost between half to 100% of a machine's value!?

I am lucky where i live in a fat city that buys new machines and sends back the "old"
    3 years later,barely broken in..
I actually recently just buy low meter spc430dn and take the toners, drums,ITB unit, fuser and transfer assembly.
I wrapped them and tape them and leave the carcass for the recycle guy who picks up the scrap metal.
I use these for my mpc300,400 and mpc401 s that are a solid box..
I dont sell any brand new which means i am not having to learn the odd issues that may arise..
and having spare machines means i can gut boards or place a loaner if i need to buy a "parts machine with high meter and
maybe broken cosmetics..I out of principle will not pay $500 for a controller..

If you check the manuals only one would never use a mpc3000/mpc2800 etc drum in the latter models nor black pcu s in color units..

If you go to the link he posted, it mentions absolutely nothing about using a 2050 ITB in a 2051.

I cked point to point via mpc2050 to mpc2551 and regarding the ITB unit the only difference is one uses +5v on pin 31 to BCU
and the other uses-5v on pin 31..IN a digital world does that matter?

    thanks
i swapped a different ITB contact motor assembly with sensor,a different ITB unit and same problem..
I will look at the point to point on both models to see if something is wired different or it just might be time to pick up another machine and
    part out this one..
never time in the day for everything

connectors to the BCU brd..i had used the good ITB unit as a customer swap and never took the old bad one back..
i saw this when cking blown fuses and sensors section.
    S20 ITB Contact Sensor L CN234/5 Open/Shorted SC442
shorted 24 V fuse on the PSU. sc442
I get a sc452 on display but via service mode and sc history i get a sc 442 with every sc 452 so who is the leader here?

    mpc2050 and the mpc2551/mpc2051 series..
    thanks
I Checked both parts catalogs. The C2550 currently uses the same ITB as the C2551 ITB, Part Number D1056003. The original part number for the C2550 was D0396003.

HI Are you sure of that?
I Google mpc2551 ITB unit and when i found it listed on precision roller they show it
working on both mpc2030/mpc2050/mpc2550 and the needed mpc2551 that i am
    trying to finish..

I have 3 ITB units in front of me,2 i know are the mpc2050 series and third i though was mpc2551 but i cant see any difference..
IS there a place i can find the part number stamped or something physical i can tell them apart??
The third unit has no belt in it and i dont want to swap a good belt only to find it unuseable
    thanks
