Birth certificates are not as important with a B/W as with a color machine. With a color machine you have to synchronize dot positioning of 3 color lasers to the black which can take hours your first time without the birth certificate.
Just return all settings to the default values shown in SP mode. Then properly clean the optics, the ID sensor and the laser unit. For the ID sensor, only use a soft cotton cloth moistened with clear water only. A dry cloth can cause static and any type of solvent can cloud the clear plastic of the sensor causing it to need replacement. If after market supplies have been used, completely clean the drum unit of any residue and install Genuine Ricoh developer and toner. Be sure to follow all settings in the SM.

Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe you've screwed with too many settings?
Because the only issues you ever seem to have with the MP2000/ 2501, etc (and you've started a dozen or more threads about them) are density problems, and as far as we know, you've never resolved a single one - at least you've never returned to say thanks and/or give the solution so how the heck would we know.
If you would do things properly, these machines are pretty reliable and simple. The settings you're changing are seldom to never necessary and only create more issues!Leave a comment:

The process used in a laser printer/copier is write to no charge. Changing SP 2001-1 will if anything affect background.
Things that can cause light print are dirty laser shield glass, dust inside the laser unit, dirty ID sensor, bad drum ground and after market drum, developer and/or toner.Leave a comment:
