    [CQ] Ricoh 480w

    To all technicians, what do you think of the machine Ricoh 480w
    Is it a machine that bears the continuous work, the toner is how much paper is working and drum yield??????

    Its a old workhorse that requires a Plotbase controller. Parts were discontinued March of 16. The XP controller is upgradeable to Windows 10 through Ratio for a cost of about $2500.00 USD. You must have the old controller card for that price. The Plotbase options were add ons so if you only have the print option and you want to scan its more money. Unlike the 2404\3601 series its a pain to take apart. Also forget bring it up stairs, it does not come apart.

    Bottom line..unless you have a lot of experience with this type of system,stay away from it.

      Agreed these machines are workhorses. Had lots of these with over 700,000 linear feet on them. Make sure you have access to the parts. Keep them cleaned and change parts at pm levels and you should be good. As mentioned make sure you have the controller card and a good cable with the machine.
