    MPC2800 firmware update

Hi! I'm fixing a Ricoh MPC2800. The hardware seem to work ok, now i want to update it to the latest firmware available.
I've found and correctly applied the following updates:
    D0255117N (Engine ver 1.59:09)
    D0255563J (Network support ver 8.33)
    D0255567F (NetworkDocBox ver 1.04)
    D0255562Z (System/Copy ver 2.02)
    D0255569H (Fax ver 06.00.00)
    D0255570K (Scanner ver 01.25)
    D0255572K (Printer ver 1.24.3)

Then i have available also a D0255563H_LRC0466 firmware that seem a modified version for the network support module, for supporting the SMB v2 protocol.
I need to apply it also, or the J version is more recent?

Then i've identified other devices that maybe need update, but i've not found the update file, and are:
    OPEPANEL
    ANIMATION
    GWFCU3-3
    FAX (OPTION)
    LANG (D0251496B)
    WEB UAPL (D0255566D)
    WEB SUPPORT (D0255565H)
    OPTION PS3
    OPTION PCTBRGD (D4135534A)
    SECURITY MODULE
    ADF
    FINISHER
    PCL FIRMWARE (D0255580F)
    PCL FONT FW (D0255589)
    RPCS FW (D0255574A)
    SUBSYS FW (D0255560H)
    REMOTE FAX (D0255564E)
    FCU FW (D3935570G)

I need to apply all of them? Really thanks!

    Re: MPC2800 firmware update

    Hi there!
Allways the whole firmware has to be updated! For this old model take only a 1GB sd-card. Update "engine" first, then off/on, then "sys/copy", off/on. The rest can then updated at one time. Otherwise you can brick the controller-board.
    Greetings...

Already done in this way (first engine and sys/copy, then others), using 1gb SD and done all the updates stated in the opening post. The printer work ok, bit i not know if i need to update also the other modules, and if i need to apply that D0255563H_LRC0466 update.
      Thanks!

I hope you know that you can "brick" a working machine at any time doing updates..
It s like the luck of the draw.
If the machine does what you need, then just run it...........

          Re: MPC2800 firmware update

There is no SMBv2/3 support for this model. D0255563H_LRC0466 was a temporary release for a problem introduce with SMB1 on the Server 2012 and Windows 8:
          MS specification change.
An option setting included in the "SMB_COM_WRITE_ANDX" and "SMB_COM_READ_ANDX"
          commands needs to be changed.
The J production released 6 months later included this patch.

              d0255570k_cs15436.rfu scannner

Nice the smb2 support! I'll try to find this files, thanks!
Yes, is an old printer that I've saved from the garbage, and excluding from few parts broken or missing (that i've already fixed/replaced, also thanks to this forum) have a quite low page printed count and i think that can do a good job...

Updates not directly available to the public from Ricoh. You have to make friends with a Ricoh technician (direct or dealer) who has access and is willing to provide them.

I've tryied to ask to one person that i know that work with big office printers... I'll try that route but if i remember well he works with konica minolta printers.
And, for the custom firmware? I don't think that is available from ricoh...

If you do not want to become a Ricoh dealer then you need to call Ricoh and pay to have a tech sent out to update your equipment.

I have been downloading them from Ricoh for years. You just have to know which ones you really need as some are for specific customers and their specific needs. These you have to fill out a request form identifying your customer and why they need it.

My friend have only the access to tech resources of konika minolta printers
Trying to contact all printer support shops here locally (the printer not worth the exit of a technician outside my city...)
