The thermostats can be reset by throwing them to the hard floor but if the code comes back you should replce both thermostats and thermistors. -
Hi mahabub, Please use the new modified middle thermistor P/N
AW100084, to avoid error from fusing unit.

There is a tech bulletin out that covers these codes and one of the things to check was to clean the Drum Potential Sensor. This would seem totally unrelated to a fuser code, but that is what it says. Something to try.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

i had a sc 544 in one of my machines, and when i check the sc history i find SC which relate to Drum Potential Sensor, can you please update me with more informationComment

I had a machine that would get SC 541. I would replace the thermostats and thermistors at the same time and printer would work fine, for a while. Problem started happening more frequently and each time I would replace the TS and TH at the same time. Problem would be resolved. Well it started happening like once a week. I ended up replacing the fuser assembly cable harness on the fuser side (male) and the fuser cable harness on the machine frame side (female). I haven't seen the problem return in over 7 months.Comment

Flaky/dirty potential sensor will definitely throw a sc541, and it's completely unrelated to any fuser issue. Mikadonovan is right about this one-it's weird but there's nothing you can do in the fuser to fix it until you replace the pot. sensor.Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Comptia A+, Comptia Network+Comment

Had a similar situation on an LD151 (lanier). According to the "Goose Guide", you need to separate the wires on the rear side of the fuser. I had gotten to the point where I would try anything, so I did. I made sure the wires for the lamps where not touching each other. Believe it or not, the problem went away. Now is it like the previous post said about a faulty interface/harness, I do not know, but it still works nearly 2 years later!Comment

SC544 (Fusing lamp overheat error)CAUSEThe silver that supports the heat-sensitive element of the thermistor bends.SOLUTIONProduction lineThe thermistor was changed (see MB064041):
Solder is now used for the connection of the heat-sensitive element of the thermistor.
Applied from:
- Tohoku Ricoh production: From beginning of Jan 2003
- REI production: From middle of Jan 2003In the fieldReplace with the modified Middle Thermistor at the next service visit.
-Regular service parts: AW100075AW100084
-FOC service parts:B0649901: (No charge)
(B0649901 and AW100084 are the same parts)Important:1. Usually, the symptom does not occur for the first 13 months at target ACV, but make sure to replace the thermistor at the next service visit.
2. The numbers printed on the old thermistor (AW100075) are black, and the numbers printed on the new thermistor (AW100084) are white.Comment
