    MPC8003 SC452

    Hello All,

I had this error SC452 on MPC 8003 and found out that the ITB BELT torn. I replaced a new ITB belt and new cleaning unit three weeks ago. And today the belt ripped again and threw the same error code. Wondering if someone shed some light.

sc452 description " During home-positioning (operation for fixing the separated status) (During the paper transfer belt separation movement)
The paper transfer belt separation sensor status does not change from "not interrupted" to "interrupted" status within 2000 msec from the start of paper transfer belt separation motor rotation."

Although I am not familiar with the 8003, there are a couple of things to check. Normally when installing a new belt, you have to put the white dot towards the rear. Also, clean any buildup off of the rollers on the ITB assembly to prevent the belt from tracking towards the front or the rear and causing it to rip.

Look at movement of PAPER TRANSFER BELT UNIT not ITB.

Hi Sydney, I did replaced a whole PTR assembly D2586201 and still no help. I believe the belt shifting is coming from the ITB assembly but I couldnt see what is causing it. I checked every tension springs and bearing all good. no binding at all.
