We recently upgraded to a Ricoh MPC6000 with a SR4010 finisher and have noticed an oddity when stapling. If the finisher reaches the maximum stapling capacity of 50 sheets, it staples what's in the tray and then continues to staple the remaining printed sheets. So if a client prints a doc that's 60 pages and stapling is enabled, they end up with one stapled 50 page doc and another that's 10 pages -- essentially two different docs. Our old Savin color machine (C3535), and the rest of our Savin/Ricoh b&w machines for that matter (4090's and mostly 8075's), simply eject what's in the finisher without actually stapling the doc if it's over capacity.
Of course, the logical thing to do would be to disable stapling for prints that are greater than 50 pages in length. But that is not always a practical solution, especially when performing blind, mass color print jobs of mixed documents where stapling is necessary.
Is there a setting buried in SP mode, or a workaround, to disable this 'feature'? Thanks!
