Ricoh MP3353 Skewing on Copies only

Hey Folks ! Went to look at This MP 3353 today Skewing images... Thought for sure it would be the Registration lug broken.... Hoping not the rear one !! Well ..turns out they were both fine... The image was skewing , but seems to only be when copying...I could do a copy count printout and it was perfect...Make a copy of that and the lines were off... Is there an adjustment on the scanner somewhere ??? Thanks in advance for your input!! Hope Everyone is hanging in there... Plz Be Safe !

If you push the document feeder left or right while copying does it make a difference? If so, there is an adjustment on the right hinge you can make (screw that fastens doc feeder to mainframe). Little piece of black tape covers the adjustment hole, just remove the tape and put that right hinge screw in that hole.

If copying on glass, there are skew adjustments for scanner in the SP 4-xxx section.

EDIT: also make sure the side guide in doc feeder is in the correct position.

Does your customer have someone that likes to lean on things. It the left front corner of the scanner get pushed down by being leaned on, it will result in skewed copies. Will also cause scans to be skewed. Solution is to hold down on the corner of the main body while lifting the corner of the scanner

Skewing on copies/scans may be different when using copier glass/DF. Buf will skew trom both sources when scanner bed is distorted as slim mentioned.

Agree with all the above but have also been caught out by a paper tray side fence where customers assigned different trays for different functions. Usually first call on Monday or last one on Friday when I don't focus on the job lol

If skewing thru adf only a worn out left hinge can cause the adf to not sit down squarely and cause this issue too. Have replaced many hinges on the previous models and these are similar.
