    MP C4503 Finisher error

Works fine with paper from tray 1 long side first. If you sent any other orientation letterR Legal or 11x17 you get the message "Remove paper from shift tray" But there is no paper in the shift tray. The message pops up as soon as the paper ejects into the shift tray. Firmware is up o date and have swapped finishers so that's not it.

    Which finisher? SR3140, SR 3150, SR3160, SR3170 or the internal SR3130?

If it IS an SR3140 check the mylars on the eject fingers.
They bend up and interfere with the correct exit of the paper onto the shift tray.

          He has swapped the finisher!

Sounds like an exit sensor delay but need to know what finisher first.

            The Finisher is an SR3140
I doubt that its the finisher since we swapped it with another SR3140, and got the same message.
One change. It does not error out when 8-1/2x11 goes through in the letter R position.

If you get the same issue with two different finishers what about with no finisher installed do you get any errors or jams?

I know you said you tried with another finisher, but nevertheless check the feeler that sits between the sponge rollers, it might be stuck (in both finishers)

^ This and also check those mylars....nothing to say that they aren't deformed on both finishers.
                      It's a stupid design.

Check to make sure the flag is going into the sensor that senses the tray lower limit, make sure the tray is not crooked and jacked up on the rear side. Also the harness is a little too short and sometimes gets pulled part way out of the sensor.

The message is it " Remove paper from shift tray because it's full " or remove a paper jam.
Try to exit the paper on the superior tray to see if it works.

Look at the paper height sensor actuator in the exit assembly you move out the way when installing Bridge unit
