Re: Ricoh MP C5503
When you clean the TM (ID) sensor assembly it should be done with a soft lint free cotton cloth slightly moistened with water only. Any cloth other than pure cotton can cause static which will immediately attract dust and toner. Use of glass cleaner can leave a film. Of alcohol or any other chemical can damage the sensor.
Also clean any and all toner hazing from the ITB assembly. With ITB removed check that the latch cam on the back of the ITB release shaft has not gotten damaged. I had a C6003 where it was broken and caused TM errors. When the solenoid for the shutter energized it would cause the right end of the ITB assembly to move slightly to the front. This kept the shutter from fully uncovering all three sensors.Leave a comment:

If all else fails, take the shutter off. It will work without it, will just have to clean ID sensors more often. Of course, it all depends on usage.Leave a comment:

Re: Ricoh MP C5503
In what condition is the ITB? If the print quality is still good I would try raising the upper VSG limit to 5v and dropping the lower threshold to 1v (if possible on these). Old trick we resorted to for SC400 on the MPC2050 engine
