    Ricoh E-24b Fiery service mode

    Hi Chaps,

I'm having trouble reinstalling system software due to a fiery E-24b hanging at 'Loading'

Can anyone tell me the correct position of the dip switches to put E-24b Fiery into service mode?? Manual suggests both should be ON (up position) but I seem to remember if being different back in the day.

Any feed back would be great.

    Cheers

Depends how you are doing it. If it's died completely, you'll have to use the USB flash method, which is dip switch 1 on.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I just had to patch a linux fiery for the Pro C5100 for the July 2020 security updates and the damn thing took 25 minutes each time to reboot in between the 7 updates. Have patience. especially if you have to patch it afterwards

I'm doing reloaded via CD rom drive. Fiery is hanging - Loading on display.

I'll try dip switch 1 On with Dip switch 2 OFF

Are you sure it's an E-24? I didn't think the little E-2x Fiery's had CD drives. The E-44 does.

Yes, E-24b. Smaller fiery with LED display at rear.

I'm using an external disk drive via my laptop as the USB Tool will not work when downloaded from My-Ricoh (Suggests a virus is detected).
