When you get a new laser diode unit from Ricoh will have a label on it with information that must be entered into the machine using SP2115 (Main Scan Beam Pitch Adjustment). With a used unit that label may no longer be attached.

ok using a term from another brand .. the adjustment is what I meant and YES it is in the manual... the polygon comes with values that must be entered into the copier.

initialization i believe is the term Brother or samsux uses , they also have values that must me inputted for the new laser/polygon

it pissed me off.. here you aren't a copier tech .. but rather an IT guy. You come to us with a problem, when given advise you tell me it isn't in the manual ( i know damn well it is )

you are REPLACING an item ... there is a large chapter in the manual that pertains to just disassembly/replacing parts. Did you look in there? No

done with you 31yrs in the industry and frankly we have more problems with know it all IT guys here.
