    Ricoh Smart SDK 2.12

    Hello Experts,

I want to install a print management application, for this Ricoh's smart SDK minimum version 2.12 is required. We have 3 series and 4 series machines. I want to check their Smark SDK version. How it can be checked?

The firmware version is the same as SDK version or it is a separate tool?

    Please shed some light.....!

    Thanks

Are you trying to install papercut embedded or is it the Java version you are looking to update? The 03 range didn't come standard with a smart panel so has to be Java. The 04 has a smart panel. I

If I remember correctly the 03s were the first color models that came with JAVA installed. Also with the 03s that had the SOP aded, the original JAVA version was not compatible with the Andoid OS on the SOP. We were told to not installed the SOP until a compatible version was available.

The JAVA version may or may not be shown on the Diagnostic report.

Yes, I want to install PaperCut Hive in 3 and 4 series. The requirements are Smark SDK Ver 2.12 or higher, SD card or HDD. There is no information about Smart SDK.

Is it the 2nd generation panel or the JAVA, Embedded architecture preinstalled. From where I can check?

In extended features it will show Smart SDK ?

If yes then it means have to check all the machines one by one? is there any other way like from model number it can be confirmed? 3 series or 4 series have builtin SDK

Are you a Ricoh tech or IT at a school or similar environment? I would recommend upgrading your 03 range as the device is now discontinued in terms of firmware updates and parts ect. 04 range is not far away from being in the same boat. I'm not familiar with Papercut Hive. My rough understanding is that it would be cloud based version of papercut. I wouldn't think the 03 wouldn't be compatible. 04 would be and likely the smart sdk is pushed to the device by some sort of deployment tool. 04 most probably would be a hybrid version so it's partly installed on the Java and SOP panel. I think you may be better off checking Papercut support for model compatibility with these two model ranges. They IMC and 10 series devices are so much more better in terms of speed and support for embedded applications.

I am a Konica Minolta Tech but working on Ricoh these days. I am not quite familiar with the software things yet. As in KM openApi Ver 3 and 4 is required for PaperCut and we know the version by the firmware but in Ricoh its quite confusing. I am not working with Ricoh or the distributor directly so I dont have access to the knowledge base. About This smart SDK i have searched over the internet but still not clear this tool is pre-installed or have to install separately like PCC 4.

Discussed with the Ricoh tech in the area he also does not know about it.

PaperCut guys they straightaway told to consult Ricoh about this SDK. They know only pre-requisites. The 4 series is compatible but with sdk installed....

The image file show that that the machine does have SDK, Java TM Platform. The platform has started and is Version 12.36.00, much later version than what you are asking about. It also shows that Print Copy Control is installed but suspended. That will most likely have to fully removed before Paper Cut can be installed.

                      Thanks for your feedback.

It means Java TM Platform is the Smart SDK? Then all of the 4 series machines have it preinstalled. It is obvious the version would be higher than 2.12.

The print copy control app can be removed without any tool? by accessing the web connection
