Mpc 2004 and Imc series drum problems

    Hello guys
We have s lot of this machines on the field and i experienced a lot of quality issues due to deterioration of the charge cleaning roller that becomes sticky and ruins the drum unit... No RTB from Ricoh. Have you experienced the same problems?
The units have from 12k (the machine made yesterday ON THE PHOTOS) to 30k....too early in my opinion. The target yield is 48k

The only times I have seen cleaning rollers that looked liked that is when someone has tried to clean the charge roller improperly and gotten water on the cleaning roller.

This one was new, i was the first to open it.But i saw the same issue on many MPC2004, maybe a material problem, i think Ricoh should change the material of this roller

This usually happens with age, even if the PCU count is low the foam can perish over time due to environmental conditions, ozone etc.

I have had the same problem with units with few copies but installed for years. It seems that the sponge breaks down over time.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it, maybe, probably not we are at the pub!

we spoke with codex via whatsapp, and it seems there was a production problem, which has been corrected, it seems that in certain conditions of high humidity and high temperature (normal in Sicily) the cleaning charge roller compound "hydrolyzes" (that's what it says) and becomes sticky... this involves that specific range of machine series, then it seems it was corrected in production.
                  I attach rtb.

This appears to be an older batch of defective drum units or cleaning rollers, which I have not had any issues with.

yes, in fact, not even me here in Milano, even though we have devices from that period, perhaps here there are not those humidity and temperature conditions mentioned in the RTB(?)
