[CQ] Ricoh MP 6002, MP7502, MP9002 Family Series, Lights or low density Copies or printing

Hello, has anyone finally found the cause of this failure? Some say the ID sensor, others say the machine filters, others change the developer unit and the developer, and the problem still occurs. When you do (force toner supply), the machine returns to good quality for aprox 150 - 200 copies, in my case I have tried changing the toner feeding mode to (pixel count) and still nothing,

    has anyone solved this problem?,

hi, the causes can be multiple, (otherwise it's not fun), how many prints does your machine have?
if it has more than 1000k it is usually enough to change the developer unit, and the developer, others say the toner supply clutch, however there is also a somewhat dated technical bulletin that suggests changing some values in SP to try to compensate for this problem .
It depends on how many prints the machine has, and the life of the consumables.
however you must necessarily update the firmware, because a new sp has been added which allows the fan to better cool the drum and everything else to minimize the deterioration of the toner and developer within the unit.
clean the drum's external air exhaust ozone filters at each intervention

SP 3-990-001 =0/1 (fan rotation speed)
    0=slow (same of previows firmware)
1=super turbo mode (ver. 1.03 or later for light print)

*be careful! with setting 1 the machine could move around the office by it self...LOL

The very first thing to do is check SP 3001-001. It should be around 70. If it is much over 100, you have a problem with the ID sensor. All Martini series models have a problem with leaking toner out of the drum cleaning station and guess what is right below it, the ID sensor. Recommended cleaning method is with a camera lens blower brush. Other methods of cleaning can damage the sensor and require that the sensor be replaced. If the problem returns quickly, replace the cleaning brush.

Thanks for your contribution, I have a question, do you think that in pixel count mode, the ID sensor should still operate? Or is it just the TD that doesn't operate?

IMHO pixel count should only be used if you have a bad ID sensor and/or a bad toner density and have to wait for parts. It will by default under tone.

well the counter sheet that you uploaded showed the machine is pushing over 2 mil. what have you done maintenance wise on this machine?

Hello, The drum is almost New OEM < 50K, The Developer unit was changed complety, Developer powder is OEM, <90K, quality is excelent after a force toner Supply, Firmware was updated with the lastest version using the Ricoh Software Tool..
Yesterday I Changed the ID Sensor, The ID reading was 50,
The problem is that It is not Feeding the Toner Automatically as It should...
I will change the Fan setting you indicated, forgot to mention that the machine is on a hot environment 35 celcius ( 95 F) or more

If ID sensor don't solve the problem, I will try to change the piezo toner end sensor on the toner supply unit.

OEM or Genuine Ricoh? There is a huge difference in quality and testing. Forced toning should not be needed with new Genuine Ricoh development unit and developer.

That is beyond specified range of 32 celcius ( 90 F).

have you already used the cleaning rod on the drum lenses?
guess you know that these have been discontinued?
