MPC 6000 Duplexing Thick 1 from Trays 2+3.

Hello, has anyone had any issues Duplexing Thick 1 from Trays 2+3? The paper used is Mondi 135gsm gloss paper. It prints ok for say 100 prints, then begins constantly missfeeding from the tray. The feed rollers are being contaminated by the paper, as after I clean them the machine runs ok for another 100 prints. This is a fairly popular paper and I have seen it run ok in other brand machines. Has anyone else had the same problem with MOndi paper and this model machine?

No improvement after 2 years.... Ricoh MPC 6000

I support IKON and work mainly out of the Portland OR area. We have a strong marketplace and I am constantly being asked to travel up to Seattle to help the junior techs out. I have had this issues as well and think the best thing to do is to tell the customers that the MPC 6000 / 7500 that the machine is not built to run a large amount of thick card stock. I have replaced so many components and determined that this ongoing issues seems to have no remedy from Ricoh. Its a matter of telling the customer that running thick card stock is to be done sparingly. Frankly my biggest issue are sales reps selling these boxes into places where customers could benefit from a better suited device.

Thanks for your reply. The paper they are using is only 135gsm and the machine is quite new (70K). As I stated, it seems to be a contamination issue and I have seen this paper used in various other types of machine. Sometimes techs may use different types of rollers to get around this type of problem.

Rollers from Katun might just do the trick, I have seen some of these clear looking rollers clog up and then become very smooth. But I wouldn't beleive it is a common problem.

More common than you think - Throw in some of the old rubber rollers (AF030051, AF031065, AF032050) and your problem will go away. Technically these don't last as long as the "gummy bears" but since you don't have to clean them every 100 copies you could say they last longer
