    Ricoh machines

We are planning to import second hand Ricoh machines. Can anybody tell me some reliable Ricoh machines (models) lunched about 5 years age more or less ?

I personally think as long as they are newer than the XX03-series they are stable,

XX03 stable machine but expensive spare parts
XX04 bit cheaper parts but some are still expensive
IM Cxx00 Stable and cheaper parts

The xx04 series are a big jump from the previous generations, especially the mid-tier black and white machines. PM yields are much higher and they run a lot cleaner. I'd almost consider those as a floor for selling.

4 and 5 series B&W, 4, 4EX and IMC series are all really good machines. IM 350-430 are outstanding provided you take care of the paper drawer back guide by putting some sort of lock on it to keep it from moving. Stay away from MP305. I prefer the MPC307 over the IMC300. The 307 has far better yield for PCDU than the IMC300 ever thought about. Although a bit newer, stay away from IM370/460 as they might be on sale for "cheap" since they flopped.

MPCxx04 model is a good one. FIx few problem from MPCxx03 by upgrade fusing and exit roller. No more curve paper exit.

Well that's not good to hear, we just put a bunch of IM370's in all across the state.

Mechanically the IM370/460 are great. They are only a flop from a sales perspective. Ricoh being completely out of touch with the dealers and end users made an A4 "Tabletop" machine that doesn't fit on anyone's counter or desk space. Thing is so damned tall that it is useless to the sales reps in 90% of the places you need an A4. Ricoh is too busy pushing stupid software nobody wants these days to make the hardware the dealers and customers need and want.

I would say your sales people are a flop. At a height of 640mm they are intended to fit on a work table that is roughly 30 to 36 inches in height and when are placed on a standard height office desk, are intended to be used while standing in front, not seated at, the desk. As soon as you add a second tray, a must in almost all office environments, add a stand or the 2 tray paper bank. Optimum configuration would the A3 second tray plus the 2 tray paper bank.

Yes they are too tall. We pulled out IM350's and put in these IM370's. They don't fit. The sales people do not go around to all the locations to fit new machine. They just sell whatever Ricoh has as a current replacement for the existing machine. It'll be a bad fit for the next 4 or 5 years.

for me , they are all fine, especially the color mpc2004, and imc, and for b&w mp4054/55 this latest model series are very reliable and easy to repair

We have several major medical accounts 100+ machine accounts that have been loyal with Ricoh product and went from the MP201 to MP301 then MP402 machines and IM350s where there is cabinetry above the machines and the old models fit the space perfectly and Ricoh comes out with the 460 and tells dealers its the replacement for the IM350/430? The new model doesn't fit. Its just too tall. Ricoh knows they have egg on their face and just brought back the 350/430 in January at a higher price and telling dealers that its a limited run. We've been switching Ricoh A4 machines out for Lexmarks leaving the accounts with mixed fleets.
