That is because it does not have a full built in WiFi interface from the factory. It was an available add on that cost a few hundred dollars US. The option required the use of a really ugly external antenna. WiFi Direct is very short range intended for use with the Ricoh Connect app on your cellular device.

If you want to print using your building's wireless network what you need to do is a wifi range extender. The LAN port on the extender that is used for setting it up can then be connected to the MP C LAN port.

No because you have no way to configure it.

Normally this machine has built in Wi-fi, the "w" means Wi-fi and the pics you sent show it does have it. I do not see where you says it is not active however, the pics don't show that.
If it is inactive then there is something wrong with the machine that you have to research further. It does not have the strongest signal, the antenna is internal and cannot see the router unless fairly close. Maybe try moving the machine close to the router if it is not close already and try to connect it.

If it has built in wireless then it is not a service setting through SP mode of any type. It is enabled through what used to be User Tools - System Settings - Interface - IEEE 802.11

I wonder if it isn't that you're trying to configure the panels WiFi-function, don't have any operational 360 nearby but if i'm not mistaken the easiest way to configure the correct WiFi-card on that machine is from User Tools -> and a menu that is called something like Basic Installation for initial setup and you have a Network-cathegory there where you pick if you are using wire or wired connection.

i agree with slim, as always. it says wi-fi, but it doesn't function as what we think of as wi-fi. i have never had luck to get it to work. even if you manage to get it turned on. it has no range. it is junk. they shouldn't even have it on the machine. it is more headache than its worth, total waste of time.
as slim suggested. use the wi-fi in the building and an extender. or if there is a network connection in that room. just plug it into the copier. took long enough, but most of the copier brands i deal with have finally decided to start adding true wi-fi within the last few years. though i haven't seen it on the ricoh yet.
