    PRO C7200 copy quality issues

    Hi Team

Hope someone could assist with an issue I have been having, I have attached a few pics for reference. The pic labelled SRA3 80gsm is the result I get when printing on SRA3 80gsm, this does not show if printing on A3 80gsm, A4 80gsm, SRA3 200gsm or higher, however if you look at the pics labelled SRA3 top and SRA3 bottom (apologies if its not clear as I had to try and keep the clients stuff private) this is one SRA3 350gsm, the top seems fine and the bottom shows the colour being misaligned.

I have done the following, fuser parts, PTR, ITB cleaning unit and ITB needed to be replaced, I have done this with OEM spares (keep in mind that the issue was there before these parts were replaced). I have also tried a second fuser. I've tried removing and realigning the ITB. I have done all the settings as per the manual when adjusting or replacing the ITB. I have tried different paper trays. I have tried different paper settings on the same paper type. IT seems as though the ITB pauses for like a fraction of a second while transferring the image.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

My guess is a transfer problem. Since you have already replaced the PTR, I would say it might have to do with transfer current. The added width of the SRA3 paper may be affecting the total transfer current. Check the manual to see if you can change the transfer current when using SRA3 paper.

Thanks Slim, I'm still going through it, so far I found that you can slow down the printing from the paper tray which slows down the transfer belt, I've set it to print the slowest it can, the image gets slightly better but the colour alignment is still off at certain parts.

Thanks Slim, I found an old PTR and tried it "just for the sake of it", and what do you know, the issue is instantly resolved! that is why we can never always assume that new parts will not fail.
