I would appreciate any help on this one. I got a call from a fellow tech who has replaced the following: black drum unit, primary transfer belt unit and is still getting washed out and light B/W images whether it's print/copy. I tried different laser unit and no luck. Posible bad primary transfer belt? The B/W image "confidential reporting hotline" was a full color page copied only in B/W. When printing in color the images look decent.
Ricoh MP C407 washed out/light only on B/W.

How was it before? What was the reason for changing the units?
Did you try the old ones one by one to find out which unit has the problem?
Did you open it up to see? Did you carefully clean the belt, the cylinder, and the charge?
It seems like some contact on the black unit is bad. -
If you have a developer unit try exchanging it. Colour copies/prints use composite black which is enhanced by adding the colours to it.Larhal
