mpc4503 paper internal exit tray curling

question? is there a different exit roller assembly for the 4503 like the 6004 etc if you have no fin on the 6004 it takes a different exit roller assmbly than if you do have a fin then its the different exit roller assmbly, does the 4503 need the same thing switched with or with out a fin? i cant see where it would be changed in the front like the 6004 etc,, does the whole assembly need changed out directly behind the fuser? this piece does come out relatively easy. or the 4503 does not have the same situation as the 6004? thanks for any insight, There is NO FIN on this machine just internal paper catch.

Nope. If you are getting curling on exit, you have excessive moisture in the paper in the feed tray. You may need to install the tray heaters.

      Try lowering the fuser temperature.

We ended up installing tray heaters on mp4054 with similar. That actually did work nicely for us.

If the machine is a used machine and once had a finisher installed yes you have to replace back to machine only exit roller assy. When fitting a bridge unit or internal finisher you get a roller assy in the box.

Sorry about that, I was in the wrong model folder. For the 03 models, the installation of the bridge unit does not require changing the roller.

Wasn't there a modified internal output tray available for the metis with a partially spring-loaded tray catching the paper before it could start to curl?

If that's not enough you can sneak to a parts donator and get yourself a "2nd hand" duplex output tray (that one directly below the scanner) and lay or hot glue it on the internal output tray. This "solution" might decrease the internal paper stack capacity a bit, though...

Plan A is to check the paper quality of course...

I wonder if you could modify the exit plate and guides from an IMC4500 to work? They are parts d241-4972 and D0BQ-4960.
