    MPc3500 Jamming In Booklet Finisher

    Morning All,

I haven't been to look at this fault myself, so bear with me if the details are lacking somewhat!

One of my colleagues has been to look at an MPc3500 which jams in the finisher when printing A4 folded and spine-stapled booklets. Apparently the centre page is dramatically offset from the rest of the booklet, some 3-4cm I think, as if it wasn't being jogged into position with the rest of the pages.

The customer has 8 or so of these boxes and all of them work fine using the same firmware releases, paper etc apart from this one.

We're going back to update the firmware on Monday, but I was wondering whether anybody had come across this fault before? Oh, and fixed it too, of course!

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

does this happen regardless of booklet size ie.amount of pages or paper size/ orientation? this kind of problem is usually something catching somewhere, maybe as the stopper moves away b4 the stack moves to be stapled. can't see how it can be firmware; never know though. Is this mentioned as a fix in the firmware readme?

What happens with corner instead of saddle stitch?

      Hi Bill,

I believe that corner stapling is fine, but I haven't been to it. There are firmware fixes for jamming at certain points (RB222015c) but, for the same reason, I don't know where the jams are actually showing on the machine.

It's happening on A4 booklets, landscape for the saddle-stitching.

Somebody else, maybe me, is going to look at it again on Monday so I'll try to get some more information or let you know what the fix is.

      Chris

Spoof the door sensor and try to visually catch it in the act.

I had one where the paper was intermittenly getting caught behind the belt
hook mylar when it went in reverse to prestack the paper prior to stapling.

Check the foam roller that reverses the paper into the stacker. I've had drive belts come loose and snap rings go missing. Most of the pages will be fine, but the last one doesn't have the time to settle to the bottom of the stacker and is then off (too high) in the stacker when stapling occurs.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

Well sort of, it's been swapped with another finisher and that certainly cured it!

I'm getting an update tomorrow for the benefit of both myself and you guys.

Here, ladies and gentlemen, is what I've got back today:

I cannot begin to explain the final 2 sentences, but I'll let you know what happens as and when it does - it's been a bit hectic over the last week.
