    sp 410 random jams

I am having problems with multiple machines it seems that they just start jamming for a while and then they stop jamming and start working great again. I have replaced feed tires and friction pad. is there any adjustments I can make to it to help. The jamming occurs at the reg roller. it seems like a timing issues. I have tried all types and brands of paper. still no luck. any thoughts

Have you tried to print out logging data (SP5-990-4)? Location of jams / Jam History?

Yes I have and it is at location 003 which is tray 1 non feed. that is why I think it is a timing thing. I also have set sp 1003002 (buckle) to +3 mm and 1003001 to +3mm

I don't know if this tray has a magnetic clutch to feed the rollers, but when it has, you could replace the cluth. Ricoh clutches are not the best ones...

          SPC410DN?

Without paper loaded move the tray 1 plate up and down manually and check the edge of the cork pad on the bottom of the tray plate is not hitting the edge of the sep pad holder.

Also be sure the spring loaded end stop is not too tight against the stack, otherwise the paper will jerk and drag upwards.

Both of those will cause intermitten but chronic misfeeds from tray 1.

I had one not long back where I replaced the feed clutches but it still had a misfeeding problem.
Tried another tray and the problem disappeared. (that's how I figured out what was happening).
