    MPC3300- Scan to USB/SD device

    Hi,

We have placed (3) MPC3300's at an account and are trying to set up the "Scan to USB/SD device"

We are getting a 'USB device not recognized' on all 3 machines. Clearly it's not the machine malfuntioning since all 3 are doing the same thing, but Ricoh is not sure and we can't seem to understand what we are missing.

I know these are not common accessories. Wondering if anyone has any experience setting these up?

I attached a picture of the device.

    Thanks!

Looks like not all usb mass storage devices are supported (maybe more will be supported with a firmware update at some point)..
Here is a list of tested storage media from the tier2 support site.

    • I/O Data TB-BH2/2G/B 2GB
    • I/O Data TB-AT1G/S 1GB
    • I/O Data TB-ST2G/B 2GB
    • elecom MF-AU202GSV 2GB
    • elecom MF-NU201GBK 1GB

2Gb would seem to be the maximum size you can use going by that list.

Thanks Cipher...I just threw this thought out to the tech and he said it's even before you plug a flash drive in. It's as soon as you hook up the accessory to the machine, then each machine codes out. Sounds like Firmware but we are definitely missing something in this set-up!

Something we only found out recently is that the manual says to turn on SP1013-001.
It does not say this is in scanner SP.
The one I set up worked with my 1gb card and the USB stick that the card slots into.

I've never installed one of these myself but, looking at the manual, make sure that the USB cable is in the correct slot on the controller and enable SP1013-001 like Fridgemagnet said.

Oh, and blitz the firmware too, just for shits and giggles.

              usb

The USB must be 2Gb or LESS for it to work also not all brands work, like the shit they have in Argos. You must also format the stick or card to FAT

There are some larger flash drives that will work. Used my Kingston 8Gb the other day on one of these bad boys.

i had the same problem once on other models. found out that the usb device i'm using is formatted to NTFS. I bought a new pendrive which is running on FAT. the mfp detects it and scanning can be done easily. Remember to put nothing more than 2 Gigabyte device.
                      have a nice day!

                        Fixed!

Just a heads up to all, thanks for all the responses. My tech told me he made a second effort to get this done and apparently he had a step out of sync. You need to follow the steps to the letter and if you are out of sync with an SP entry it will not work. Thanks again!
