    Aficio 2075...noise from the recycling

    Hello

I have some problems with a few Aficio 1060/75 ,2060/75. After a while there is a noise, like grind, comming from the toner recycling tube in front of the PCU Unit, i changed the two black gears , but nothing...same noise after a few copies.

    Someone knows the problem??

You have to make sure you get it cleaned out good. Also if that coil gets out of shape it can dig into the tube or get compressed so the toner doesn't get pushed all the way up and you have a jam again.

The bushing at the bottom of the front tube probably has a tiny bit of play in it and it's not allowing the gears to mesh well, which is causing the noise. Usually replacing the front tube bushing and coil will take care of the problem.

I actually take a drill and "round" the hole out a bit, giving it more up & down play (damn, is this even the right forum for this kind of talk?) Even though the tube is keyed, it will still give a little bit. This extra bit of movement allows the gears to mesh just a bit more and the problem goes away. Also, as jimbo said, check the tube and make sure it's thoroughly cleaned out.

We have had to replace those recycling tubes before. They do wear out.
I also replace the classification assembly (clear plastic recycling assembly on top of the toner hopper) at every other PM or so.

check the brush drive gear on the back of the pcu. these are easily damaged if there is any extra load put on the recycle/brush drive such as blocked front tube
