I would activate user control and a code on each computer. You'll see how the rat jumps xD hahaha

It's probably some kind of security or network scanner that's probing open ports on the network. The MFP gets the query and tries to interpret it as a print job.

If there's no such device on the network, there may be something malicious that's doing the same thing, though 99% of the time it's a Nessus or similar server doing a security sweep.

Someone may be trying to hack your network by using port 9100. 9100 is normally a printer port. It is trying to exploit a vulnerability in Windows Mac or both. If you have any vulnerable computers any stored data may already be compromised. The IP Address 75.80.21.237 is a Charter/Spectrum customer in Carlsbad.

The fact that an MFP is accessible from the Internet is even more disturbing...

Thank you. That may be what we need to look for as the printer is also located in Carlsbad but the network in the office including the printer is 192.168.1.xxx.

Any kind of ISP security appliance on the WAN side?

There is another possibility, since the third line identifies the sending device as a Mac OS X 10.11 it could be someone in their office that doesn't access to the LAN is trying to setup Air Print.

These came in this morning. Same ip address but looks like different OS.
                      Any way to block this?

User agents are trivial to spoof, however it's time to get the client's IT or ISP involved to track down the offending device.

I've seen this before with Sharp MFP's.

Turned out that it was isolated to one computer, this was an accounting PC. When they print, it prints directly from their application. When saving document and printing directly from the printer driver, it's okay, but when they use online application, it prints this message.

I don't know what the solution was.

I spoke with the person in accounting today and she mentioned the HP printer in her office does the same thing sometimes. I removed the Ricoh from her computer and we will see if it happens again.
