    Ricoh 2045e

    Good afternoon everyone

I have a problem with one of the copiers i use....when i copy a document sometimes the copy is like the photo bellow

but when i am sending from pc the 2045e shows me an SC326 code and prints always is like this

i know that sc326 refers to the laser unit but when i copy; the sc326 doesnt appear....

any ideas about what may cause that?

    thanks in advance..

Change the door switches above the fuser and then run LD unit initial setting for both 400 and 600dpi.

Failing that it's LD drive board or BICU I'm afraid.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Seen a corrupted HDD do something like that on an AF550 before - won't cost you anything to try formatting it before you start tearing into switches or LDDB

Start with door switches and if you have no result try a different laser unit from another copier (if you have one). It happened to me some time ago on a 1045 and it was the laser. Good luck.

Perform a NVRAM reset (SC5801-2) on Engine only, adjust the laser beam pitch adjustment for 400 and 600 dpi. It will solve the problem

I had very related trouble with a corrupted RAM module and an extremely dirty controller PCB but due to the laser SCs I think this is not your problem.

Re-Adjusting the Laser Beam Adjustment is indeed a good start because it's easy to do. Don't forget to delete the old Beam Pitch data before performing the adjustment for both resolutions - it's all in the same SP.

Only if this won't help you can try the next "software step" and reset the NV Ram. Don't forget to (try to) print all SP data and backup the NV ram on a memory card - just for the case you like to undo this action in no time

Maybe you have also access to an old A2045e in your stock - I'd take out the complete controller and the laser unit - both are easy to swap for testing. A set of door switches may also be useful.

If the beam pitch adjustment doesn't fix it, your probably looking at a faulty BICU or a bad SIB( scanner interface board)

                    Also mirror motor

Poligonal motor failure can do that also
